14TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

“Your merciful love, O God, we have received in the midst of your temple. Your praise, O God, like your name, reaches the ends of the earth; your right hand is filled with saving justice.”

First Reading: Isaiah 66.10-14

“Blessed are they who mourn” … they are called to rejoice? What do I mourn, for those dear to me and for the world? What path is God inviting me to take from mourning to rejoicing in this Jubilee of Hope?

Psalm 66: “Make a joyful noise to God, all the earth!”

Second Reading: Galatians 6.14-18

“May I never boast of anything except the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.” How have my vision of the world and approach to life been affected by my faith in Christ? What “marks of Jesus” have been “branded” on me?

“Alleluia! Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Alleluia!”

Gospel: Luke 10.1-12, 17-20

Who are my closest companions in sharing the Good News of the kingdom of Good? Whether the Good News was accepted or not, what signs have I seen that God’s kingdom is near? How dependent am I on outcomes? Whatmotivates me to continued discipleship when there are no obvious fruits?
