REFLECTION ON THE READINGS

1. First Reading 2 Kings 4.42-44

What are the fruits of all the gifts and talents God has given me? What fruits do I offer to God for the benefit of his people? What more might I give? When has a sense of inadequacy prevented me from contributing what I could? What encouragement do I need now, to share God’s love in the world?  

Psalm 145: “You open your hand to feed us, Lord; you satisfy all our needs.”

2. Second Ephesians 4.1-6

Did baptism change my life? How has my journey of faith progressed? When did I recognize that God was calling me? How is the Holy Spirit helping me to grow in living out God’s call? Where do I more help from the Holy Spirit to “[bear] with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace”? How can we help each other in our parish community and in the Church?
