First Reading: Jeremiah 33.14-16

In the centuries after King David, Israel and Judah suffered waves of corruption, oppression and exile with some joyful times of restoration and return to God. How does God’s promise through Jeremiah apply in our time? What would our land be like if it were called “The Lord is our righteousness”?

Psalm 25: “Make me to know your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths. To you, O Lord, I lift my soul.”

Second Reading: Thessalonians 3.12-4.2

How do my life and my efforts to please God align with what I have learned through the Church? What do I want to work on this Advent? What help do I ask of God to grow in holiness and in love for others?

“Alleluia! Show us your steadfast love, O Lord, and grant us your salvation.”  Alleluia.”

Gospel: Luke 21.25-28, 34-36

News reports are full of the unimaginable suffering due to natural disasters, wars and other circumstances. How has this affected me? How am I preparing, practically and spiritually, for potential personal or societal calamities? How am I preparing for the second coming of Christ?                  PRAY FOR THE SICK: May Chu, Camilo Romero, Adela Lim, Mary Martin, Ky Truong, Gina Tabul, Olivera Lambeta, Ngan Thi Trinh, Thuong Van Tran, Francesca Cabrales, Maria Garcia, Danita Chow, Hong Van Le, Tuyen Thi Nguyen, Phu Thi Truong, Bernard Boos, Hanh Huynh, Mary Magdalene H, Sa Thi Dang, Phuong Van Nguyen, Hoa Xuan Thi Le, Estrella Rodriguez,  Felipe Sobredo, Shirley De La Cruz, Nicole Van Humbeck, Caroline Bayle, Thái Thị Mỹ.

PRAYER FOR THE MONTH

For pilgrims of hope: We pray that this Jubilee Year strengthen our faith, helping us to recognize the Risen Christ in our daily lives, and that it may transform us into pilgrims of Christian hope.
