First Reading: Deuteronomy 26.4-10
What is my personal history of God’s great deeds, from the lives of my fathers in faith to my own life in Christ? How do I give thanks?
Psalm 91: “Be with me, Lord, when I am in trouble.”
Second Reading: Romans 10.8-13
“If you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” What are the weak spots in my faith? How can I bring the faith in my heart to my lips, as prayer, worship, song, or sharing it with others?
“Glory and praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ! Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
Gospel: Luke 4.1-13
How does the devil usually get to me? Through desire for food, or other appetites? Power and authority? Distrust in God or pride? When the devil comes at the next opportune time, how will I resist? How will I prepare to serve as Jesus’ disciple
