First Reading: Joshua 24.1-2a, 15-17, 18b
Joshua said to all the people, “If you are unwilling to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve…” What experiences, knowledge and understanding have helped form my choice about whether to serve the Lord or prioritize something else in my life? How is my decision about whom I serve reflected in my daily activities?
Psalm 34: Taste and see that the Lord is good.
Second Reading: Ephesians 4.32-5.1-2,21-32
How do I understand St. Paul’s statement, “Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ.”? What challenges do I have in applying this in my marriage and with family members? In my workplace? In other personal relationships?
“Alleluia! Your words, Lord, are spirit and life; you have the words of eternal life.” Alleluia.”
Gospel: John 6.53,60-69
Why do so many people turn away from Jesus, both then and now? How can we bring Jesus’ “words of eternal life” to others, and help them open up to the gift of faith? Whom might I encourage in their beliefs about the Holy Eucharist, that they may cherish the gift of receiving Jesus himself and his life?
