First Reading: Isaiah 35.4-7

What aspects of my life, or what other circumstances in the world today, are sapping my strength or fostering anxiety? What are my hopes for the coming of God? With whom can I share that hope, and how might it help them be strong and not fear?

Psalm 146: “Praise the Lord, O my soul!”

Second Reading: James 2.1-5

Which of my relationships have been impeded or tainted by my biases? What distinctions or judgements do I tend to make based on external appearance, or information or gossip about someone’s wealth, profession, social status, ethnicity, church attendance or other characteristics? How can I open my heart to the “richness in faith” that God gives, without distinction, to all who love him?

“Alleluia! Jesus proclaimed the good news of the kingdom and cured every sickness among the people.” Alleluia.”

Gospel: Mark 7.31-37

Whom would I like to bring to Jesus for healing? What inhibits me from accessing or receiving Jesus’ saving help? What kind of healing do I need, to be able to more zealously proclaim the Good News about Jesus?
