First Reading: Genesis 2.7ab, 15, 18-24

Within the richness of life in God’s creation, Holy Scripture emphasizes the special bond and calling that God gave to Man and Woman. What have I learned about marriage from my family history? What are some strengths and weaknesses of my own marriage? As a couple or family, how do we live our vocation of helping each other and caring for creation?

Psalm 128: “May the Lord bless us all the days of our lives.”

Second Reading: Hebrews 2.9-11

How does Jesus’ suffering make me feel? What is my understanding of its purpose? How have I responded to the experience of my own suffering, and to the suffering of others, my “brothers and sisters”?

“Alleluia! If we love one another, God will live in us with perfect love. Alleluia.”

Gospel: Mark 10.2-16

“Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?” What are my thoughts and questions about Jesus’ and the Church’s teaching on marriage? What helps to make a lifelong marriage, and what can get in the way? How do the children in my life help me “receive the kingdom of God”?
