REFLECTION ON THE READINGS
1. First Reading - Habakkuk 1.2-3; 2.2-4
What causes me to lose hope in the future and hope in God? What have I learned through persevering in faith and in prayer? Who in my life needs help, and how can I encourage them?
Psalm 95: “O that today you would listen to the voice of the Lord, do not harden your hearts!”
2. Second Reading 2 Timothy 1.6-8, 13-14
How has the gift of the Holy Spirit, received in Confirmation, inspired my life? How can I rekindle this “spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline” for today’s challenges? What are my weaknesses and strengths in guarding “the good treasure” entrusted to me?
“Alleluia! The word of the Lord endures forever; that word is the good news announced to you.”
3. Gospel Reading - Luke 17.5-10
How might Jesus correct my relationship to God? When has the Lord put me in my place as I asked for something? How can I guard against an attitude of entitlement as a disciple, remaining humble and bold in faith toward God?
