“Let the hearts that seek the Lord rejoice; turn to the Lord and his strength; constantly seek his face.”
First Reading: Jeremiah 31.7-9
Jeremiah’s prophecy highlights the Lord’s fatherly care, gathering his children from exile and “leading them home”. What aspects resonate with me today? How can my experience encourage others who seem scattered, blind or lame, or who are facing a big change?
Psalm 126 “Those who go out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, carrying their sheaves. The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.”
Second Reading: Hebrews 5.1-6
What might I pray for specifically, as I ask God to assist each priest I know in his sacred calling? How can I encourage the young people in my life to explore vocations to the priesthood and religious life? Who comes to mind?
“Alleluia! Our Saviour Jesus Christ has abolished death and brought us life through the Gospel.” Alleluia.”
Gospel: Mark 10.46-52
“Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” How has Jesus responded to me in my desperation? The crowd tried to silence Bartimaeus. What inhibits me in my prayer or prayer life?
