“The Lord said: I think thoughts of peace and not of affliction. You will call upon me, and I will answer you, and I will lead back your captives from every place.”

First Reading: Daniel 12.1-3

What image do I have of the end times? How am I called to act in the face of anguish in the world, close to home or far away? What example will I give to my family, co-workers and friends?   

Psalm 16: “Protect me, O God, for in you I take refuge.”

Second Reading: Hebrews 10.11-14, 18

How has Christ ’s offering of himself been transforming me towards perfection in holiness? How has my understanding of God’s forgiveness, and forgiveness of others, changed during my faith journey?

Gospel: Mark 13.24-32

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” What words of Jesus sound in my heart and sustain me through trials and tribulations? How am I readying myself for his Second Coming?

ADVENT Retreat and Confession

All donations will help support the 12 Catholic missions in First Nations communities throughout the Archdiocese, and the Apostleship of the Sea serving seafarers who work on ships that visit Vancouver harbour. *Christmas Outreach: Next week Christ the King Sunday, there will be a second collection for our Annual Parish Outreach Program. Your support in next week's special collection or through the Christmas Outreach envelope will provide a grocery gift card and chicken or turkey for more than 70 families who reach out to us for help. Please call the parish office for more information, or to refer a family in need.
