First Reading: Ezekiel 37.12-14

“I am going to open your graves, and to bring you up from your graves, O my people … I will put my spirit within you and you shall live …” What has helped me to know God and to recognize his presence, power and action? When has God brought me to life?

Psalm130: “With the Lord there is steadfast love and great power to redeem”.

Second Reading: Romans 8.8-11

How do “the flesh” and “the Spirit” interact in me in daily life? How do health concerns and temptations or sin affect the balance? In these days before Easter, how can I be more alive in the promise of the indwelling Spirit of Christ?

Praise to you, Lord, king of eternal glory! “I am the resurrection and the life, says the Lord; whoever believes in me will never die.”

Gospel: John 11.1-45

When has God’s plan differed from what I hoped? How did I recognize God’s handiwork in the situation? What did the miracle of the raising of Lazarus show to Martha, to Mary, to the disciples and to the onlookers? How might the whole experience have affected Lazarus? What aspects stand out most for me and why?

ARCHDIOCESAN NEWS

Contribute to the legacy of St. John Paul II and St. Teresa of Calcutta’s historic visits to Vancouver by helping us build a statue of these saints outside of Holy Rosary Cathedral in downtown Vancouver.  For all supporters, your name will be published in a commemorative book for the day of unveiling and blessing.  In addition, larger supporters will be recognized on plaques on the base of the statue.

Homelessness and poverty were important causes to St. Mother Teresa and St. John Paul II.  A portion of the funds raised will support The Door is Open and the Catholic Charities Men’s Shelter.
