“The Lord became my protector. He brought me out to a place of freedom; he saved me because he delighted in me.”
First Reading: Sirach 27.4-7
What comes out in my words and behaviour when I am “shaken” a bit by life’s interactions and tribulations? How do the “fruits” people now see in me reflect the “cultivation” I received during different periods of my life?
Psalm 92: “Lord, it is good to give thanks to you.”
Second Reading: 1 Corinthians 15.54-58
What does the saying, “Death has been swallowed up in victory” mean to me? How is it related to my understanding of sin and its consequences, and my thinking about death?
“Alleluia! Shine like stars in the world, holding fast to the word of life.” Alleluia.”
Gospel: Luke 6.39-45
What “logs” of misunderstanding or misinterpretation have been dislodged in my own journey of faith? How did I discover them, and what changed afterwards? What is my assessment of the fruits of my existence and the treasure of my heart? How do I help others on their path to holiness and what doesn’t work?
