MOST HOLY TRINITY
“Blest be God the Father, and the Only Begotten Son of God, and also the Holy Spirit, for he has shown us his merciful love.”
First Reading: Proverbs 8.22-31
How do I picture the Holy Trinity? How does the description in Proverbs illuminate my concept of the Trinity, and the relationship of the triune God to human beings?
Psalm 8: “O Lord, our God, how majestic is your name in all the earth! When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, what is a man that you are mindful of him, or the son of man that you care for him?”
Second Reading: Romans 5.1-5
Faith, hope and love: the God-given virtues intertwining us with the Trinity through grace. How has the gift of faith influenced my life? What about suffering? How might “boasting” about my faith journey give glory to God?
“Alleluia! Glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit: to God who is, who was, and who is to come.”
Gospel: John 16.12-15
When have I felt the Spirit of truth’s guidance with choices, doubts or difficulties? How has my understanding of Jesus’ teaching, and of the love of Father, Son and Holy Spirit grown through this process?
