First Reading: 2 Chronicles 36.14-17a, 19-23

How has God provided correction for my unfaithfulness, and encouragement and guidance to draw close to him? Who have been God`s messengers of correction or hope? Who in my life might need a message from God, and what might it be?

Psalm 137: “Let my tongue cling to my mouth if I do not remember you.”

Second Reading Ephesians 2.4-10

In my life, how do faith and works interrelate? What is the balance between activities related to love of God and those stemming from love of neighbour? How do I nurture the gift of faith in myself and others?

Praise and honour to you, Lord Jesus Christ! God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.” Gospel: John 3:14-21

St. John aligns lack of belief in Christ with condemnation and with loving the darkness and doing evil. Conversely, ”those who do what is true come to the light”. How does that alignment of faith and works apply today? How might hope for salvation for non-believers be influenced by knowing that God sent his Son, not to condemn the world, but that it might be saved through him?
