First Reading: Jeremiah 31.31-34

How have I come to know the Lord and his law? What difference is there between knowing through the head, and through the heart? How have experiences of God’s mercy and forgiveness formed my faith and love of God?

Psalm 51: “Create in me a clean heart, O God.”

Second Reading: Hebrews 5.7-9

“In the days of his flesh…” Our faith teaches that Jesus was fully human as well as fully divine. When have I cried out to God, as Jesus did? How is God forming me to be obedient to his will? How might my experience of God help others on their spiritual journey?

“Praise and honour to you, Lord Jesus Christ! Whoever serves me must follow me, says the Lord; where I am, there will my servant be also.”

Gospel: John 12.20-33

How have service and discipleship been involved in the growth of my relationship with Jesus and his Father? How does my Christian life, or the lives of other followers of Jesus, reveal the glory of God? Considering all God’s blessings to me, in what ways can I give more of myself, out of love for God?
