“O God, who teach us that you abide in hearts that are just and true, grant that we may be so fashioned by your grace as to become a dwelling pleasing to you.”

First Reading: Leviticus 13.1-2, 45-46

In Leviticus’ time, all skin diseases were called leprosy and thought to be signs of uncleanness and sin. What judgements do I make based on people’s appearance? How does appearance affect my decisions to approach or distance myself from others? When has my first impression changed after getting to know someone?

Psalm 32: “You are my refuge, Lord, with deliverance you surround me.”

Second Reading: 1 Corinthians 10.31-11.1

How would my day-to-day life be different if I did everything in imitation of Christ and for the glory of God? How would it affect my relationships, especially with people outside my social groups?

“Alleluia!  A great prophet has risen among us; God has looked favourably on his people.” Alleluia.”

Gospel : Mark 1.40-45

“If you choose, you can make me clean.” What aspects of my life do I need to bring to the Lord?  How can I approach him with the spirit of the leper? How have I responded to what God has already done for me?
