First Reading: Acts 6.1-7

How do the needs and activities of the early Church compare with the Church today? How did the apostles resolve challenges related to the Church’s rapid growth? Who helps in these roles now? In what types of activities am I called to serve?

Psalm 33: “Let your love be upon us, Lord, even as we hope in you”.

Second Reading: 1 Peter 2.4-9

“Like living stones let yourselves be built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” These words follow Peter’s invitation to everyone to “Come to the Lord”. How do I live as a living stone integral to our spiritual house? How do I unite myself to the offering of the holy sacrifice of the Mass?

“Alleluia. I am the way, the truth, and the life, says the Lord; no one comes to the Father, except through me.” Alleluia.

Gospel: John 14.1-12

When have I felt lost or confused about my faith? What challenged me? How has Jesus been with me, and what have I learned from him? How do I join in his works? Who do I hope to see in the Father’s house?

Food bank planning meeting: Our parish, together with St. Mark's Lutheran and King's Cross Anglican Churches, is starting to plan for a food bank to serve people in need in our community. If you are interested in this project, please join us for an information meeting in our church basement on Thursday May 25 at 7:30 pm. Interested friends and neighbours are also most welcome. For more information, contact Cathy (email [email protected]) or the parish office.

Our Parish is always looking for volunteers who are willing to donate their time and talents in various areas such as: sacristans, readers, altar servers, choir members, gift bearers, parking lot attendants and so much more.
