“Proclaim a joyful sound and let it be heard; proclaim to the ends of the earth: The Lord has freed his people, Alleluia!”

First Reading: Acts 8.5-8, 14-17

How did Philip spread the Good News? As Christianity fades from society, how can I bring the joy of the Gospel to the community? What follow-up is needed in the parish?

Psalm 66: “Come and see what God has done; he is awesome in his deeds among the children of Adam.”

Second Reading: 1 Peter 3.15-18

“Always be ready to make your defence to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and reverence.” How do I express my faith and its teachings in the face of criticism of the Church or religion? What situations are the most challenging? What helps me stay faithful to Christ?

“Alleluia. All who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them. Alleluia.

Gospel: John 14.15-21

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” How have my love of Jesus and attitude towards the commandments changed with time? How has the Spirit of truth guided that process? What work is ongoing?
