“O God, who in this wonderful Sacrament have left us a memorial of your Passion, grant us, we pray, so to revere the sacred mysteries of your Body and Blood that we may always experience in ourselves the fruits of your redemption.”

First Reading: Deuteronomy 8.2-3, 14-16

What have I learned through God’s guidance on my life journey? When was I aware of my human fragility and inadequacy, and of God’s care? If I were to adapt Moses’ guidance for people close to me, what would I say?

Psalm 147: “Praise the Lord, Jerusalem.”

Second Reading: 1 Corinthians 10.16-17

During Mass, how do I keep in mind our sharing in the Body and Blood of Christ? How do I keep in mind the oneness of our community of faith? How do these graces of Communion manifest in my life outside of church?

“Alleluia. I am the living bread that came down from heaven, says the Lord; whoever eats of this bread will live for ever. Alleluia.

Gospel: John 6.51-59

Jesus is very clear about the need to eat his flesh and drink his blood, but who could understand at that moment? How did the apostles come to understand? What do I want to tell Jesus?
