Mark 11.1-10/John 12.12-16

“Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord – the King of Israel!” What inspires me to proclaim “Hosanna!” to Jesus today? How does his triumphal procession colour my reflection on the Passion?

First Reading: Isaiah 50.4-7

How has Jesus’ example as the suffering servant assisted me through trials and challenges?

Psalm 22: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? O my help, come quickly to my aid!”

Second Reading: Philippians 2.6-11

What does God’s gift in Christ, the profound humility and obedience of becoming human and dying on the cross, mean for me? How does Christ dying alter our faith in him as God?

“Praise and honour to you, Lord Jesus Christ! Christ became obedient for us to death, even death on a Cross. Therefore, God exalted him and gave him the name above every other name.

Gospel: Mark 14.1-15.47

Of the many people implicated in the Passion, with whom do I identify? Which interaction with Jesus most touched my heart? How might I have been involved if I were there? How is the Passion continuing today? What part do I have now, in the suffering and in the resurrection to come?
